MoneySense Top 500 Stocks

Introduction

The MoneySense Top 500 provides a comprehensive overview of the largest U.S. stocks from 2008. Regardless of your approach — value or growth investing — we've analyzed the data using several key metrics that will suit either style. Now you'll be able to make the best, most informed decisions about your investment portfolio.

We start by selecting the 500 largest public companies in the U.S. based upon net sales. We then look for bargains by rating each stock for its value appeal. The most undervalued stocks get an A. The next most undervalued group gets a B and so on, all the way down to F for the stocks that we deem to be overvalued.

To provide you with another perspective, we balance off our judgment by grading each stock on its growth prospects as well. Stocks with the best growth drivers are given As; the slow growers are sent home with Fs.
