We all know that Tiger Woods dominates the game of golf. His winnings on the 2007 tour were nearly double Phil Mickelson’s, the tour’s No. 2 money earner -- with 10 fewer rounds played. Compare those stats against those of another top golfer, Vijay Singh, who pocketed a hefty $4.7 million as the No. 3 money winner on the tour, but needed almost 30 extra rounds to earn it.
But the bigger story from last year may be Lorena Ochoa. The Mexican golfer dominated the women’s game almost as much Woods did the men’s, trouncing her nearest competitors in overall winnings, as well as money earned per event, per round and a host of other earnings statistics.
How to use the tables
Our Golf Money List lets you compare money and performance statistics for 340 PGA and LPGA players. Players are ranked by total tour winnings, but we also provide their earnings by event, round and some key performance stats. Besides the standard performance figures – rounds, strokes, putts, birdies and eagles – we’ve also calculated putts, birdies and eagles per round to ensure an easier and fairer comparison between players, irrespective of how often or little they played.
The money and performance tables can be emailed, printed out or downloaded into a spreadsheet. Golfers can be ranked according by any of the statistics simply by clicking on the column name. A second click on the same column name will reverse the order. Custom views can be created for selected statistics.
Figures for the PGA were obtained from pgatour.com and for the LPGA from lpga.com. |
